WORK HISTORY

AMERICAN GIRL/MATTEL: senior designer, 2016-2018, full-time employment, designed lines of children’s toys for educational and historical collectors market. Responsibilities included developing new characters and story arcs to turn into product. Leading design development for hardlines products in materials like injection molded plastic, wood composites, and metal. Organizing market research and user testing with focus groups. Also spearheaded improvements to prototyping methods by introducing cad modeling and 3D printing techniques to the development process

TARGET: associate designer, 2011-2016, full-time employment, designed variety of furniture for sale across chain and online. Responsibilities included managing design direction for accent side tables, and children’s furniture for major store resets, producing original designs, leading vendor development of product, collaborating with category experts to execute business strategies. Major accomplishments include holding 5 design patents and introducing new collections that generated more than 50K in revenue per week.

RANDA ACCESSORIES: assistant designer, 2010-2011, full-time employment, designed men’s fashion accessories for various licensed brands, duties included trend research, rendering concepts, presentations, meeting with manufacturers on product development and helped pioneer the use of 3D technologies for rapid prototyping and fabrication of clothing apparel

INNOMARK COMMUNICATIONS: co-op, spring & fall 2008, full-time intern, designed point of purchase store displays, rendered concepts, engineered prototypes, managed assembly line, wrote instruction manuals, gave presentations to company heads and visiting clients.

K‘NEX INDUSTRIES: co-op, spring & fall 2007, full-time intern, designed children’s toys, edited instruction manuals, developed & mocked up new packaging ideas

GALLAGHER AND ASSOCIATES: co-op, spring & fall 2006, full time intern, selected finishes, fabrics, and materials for museum exhibits, made scaled models of mock exhibits, wrote & animated digital presentations, worked on the layout of museum floor plans, drew graphics for museum posters
